This tasty appetizer is sure to satisfy your sweet and savory craving in one go. Crispy and salty prosciutto, creamy goat cheese, and rich, caramel-flavored dates create an unforgettable combination that makes these small bites difficult to share. Dense enough to keep you going back for more, but light enough to couple with a deliciously dry Rosé.

Provence Style Rosé
Enjoué

Ingredients:

  • 16 Medjool Dates, pitted
  • 1/3 Cup – Soft Goat Cheese
  • 3 Ounces – Prosciutto, cut into strips
  • 1 tsp – Lasseter Family Heirloom Farms Organic Honey
  • 4 – 5 Basil Leaves (for garnish)
  • Toothpicks

Preparation:

Step one:

Preaheat grill to 400 degrees or preheat oven to broil. Slice the dates and generously fill with goat cheese. Wrap prosciutto around filled dates. Secure with toothpicks.

Step two:

Grill: Place wrapped dates on grill using indirect grilling method. Cook for about 7 minutes per side, or until prosciutto is crispy.

Broil: Move oven rack to the middle position. Place wrapped dates on a baking sheet and set on rack. Broil for about 3 minutes until cheese bubbles.

Step three:

Carefully remove toothpicks from cooked dates and plate. Drizzle with honey and garnish with basil. Serve with chilled Rosé and try your best to share. Enjoy!
