Lasseter Family Winery strives to make honest, balanced, graceful wines, and to refresh and replenish the resources from which these wines are made.
Since acquiring the property in 2002, the Lasseters embarked on an environmentally sensitive upgrading for their long-neglected property, lovingly restoring the natural habitat and land to good health. They have converted the vineyards exclusively to organic farming practices, completely revitalized the pond, and developed a natural eco-system with beehives, owl boxes and insectaries to provide homes for beneficial insects and predators.
The youngest Lasseter son contributes to the family’s sustainable growing practices by looking after several colonies of honeybees, right on the edge of the Creekside Syrah Block. The family has pulled out invasive plants and reintroduced native species, bringing the estate together as a functioning and beautiful, productive whole.
The new, eco-friendly winery building sits on the original winery footprint. Built from local materials and set into the hillside, the winery blends naturally into a landscape of native plants. The visual impact is minimal and all elements are in harmony with nature.
Equilibrium and harmony in the vineyards lead to balanced wines – a balance enhanced through winemaking by skillful blending. This is the vision that drives the Lasseter Family Winery Estate, captured in every bottle.
